This policy explains what personal information Nurf Designs collects when you visit nurfdesigns.com, buy a font or contact us, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
Nurf Designs is an independent type foundry based in Serang, Banten, Indonesia, and is responsible for the personal information described here. “Personal information” means any information that can identify you, such as your name or email address.
1Information we collect
Information you give us. When you buy a font or create an account, we ask for your name, email address and billing country, and you may add a company name and address. When you contact us, we receive your name, email address and message.
Purchase information. We keep a record of the fonts and licenses you bought, order totals, discount codes and payment status. Payments are handled by PayPal: we receive a confirmation and a transaction ID, never your full card or bank details.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you arrived, through cookies and similar technologies (see section 3). When you download a font, the date and IP address of the download are recorded to protect your license.
2How we use your information
- To process your order, deliver your fonts, send your invoice and license agreement, and give you access to your downloads.
- To keep a record of your license, so we can confirm it whenever you need proof.
- To answer your questions and provide customer support.
- To keep the website secure and to prevent fraud and spam.
- To understand how the website is used and improve it.
- To send you news about new fonts, only if you have subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on the contract with you (orders and support), our legitimate interests (security, statistics and improving the site), your consent (newsletter and advertising cookies where consent is required) and our legal obligations (tax and accounting records).
3Cookies
- Essential cookies keep your cart, checkout and login working. The shop cannot work properly without them.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics help us understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed. They do not tell us your name or email address.
- Advertising cookies. Some blog pages show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, such as the DoubleClick cookie, to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block essential cookies, the cart and checkout may stop working. You can also choose how Google uses your data in Google Ad Settings, opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or opt out of interest-based ads through the Network Advertising Initiative. Our site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, so please use these options instead.
4Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the shop, only as far as they need it, and they must keep it confidential:
- PayPal, to process payments.
- Our web hosting provider in Indonesia, which stores the website, your account and order records, and delivers our emails.
- Google (Analytics and AdSense), for website statistics and ads, as described in section 3.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or when it is needed to enforce our Terms of Service or to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of others.
5International transfers
Nurf Designs is based in Indonesia and some of our service providers process data in other countries, including the United States. When your information is transferred, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer to protect it.
6How long we keep it
- Orders and licenses: for as long as needed to confirm your license and re-send your files, and at least as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Accounts: until you ask us to delete your account.
- Messages: as long as needed to answer you and follow up.
- Analytics data: according to Google’s data retention settings.
7How we protect it
The whole website runs over an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS) and is scanned regularly for malware and known vulnerabilities. Your information sits behind secured networks and only a limited number of people with special access rights can reach it, and they must keep it confidential. Payments are processed by PayPal and are not stored or processed on our servers. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you by email within 7 business days.
8Your rights and choices
- You can visit the website without telling us who you are.
- You can view and update your details at any time by logging in to My account.
- You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct or delete it. We may keep order records we need to confirm your license or meet legal obligations.
- You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time, and withdraw any consent you have given.
- Depending on where you live, you may also object to or limit how we use your information, and complain to your local data protection authority.

9Emails we send
We always send emails needed for your order, such as your download links, invoice and license. We send news and offers only to people who have subscribed. Every marketing email identifies itself, never uses misleading subject lines, includes our business address and has an unsubscribe link, and we remove you from all marketing correspondence promptly when you ask.
10Children
Our website is not aimed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page and the “Last updated” date above changes with them.
